Since 2005, SVARTSOT has conveyed their distinctive blend of metal and folk music with more than just a hint of the medieval age. Besides snarling guitars, rumbling bass and thundering drums, the music is flavoured with the tones of authentic folk instruments such as whistles, mandolins and bagpipes, supporting the ruthless medieval feel and the lead guitar’s captivating

melodies. Inspiration for SVARTSOT’s lyrics is found in the wealth of Danish folklore and history, and the merciless, growled vocals are therefore delivered entirely in Danish.

After the self-release of the demos “Svundne Tider” (2005) and “Tvende Ravne” (2006), SVARTSOT inked a deal with the Austrian label Napalm Records in 2007. Hereafter followed the release of the albums “Ravnenes Saga” (2007), “Mulmets Viser” (2010) and “maledictus eris” (2011). During the winter of 2013/2014, SVARTSOT recorded their fourth studio album, which will be released in the summer of 2014.

SVARTSOT is an established name on stages in both Denmark and abroad. The band can thus look back on an extensive back catalogue of tours, shows and festivals. These include tours and shows with bands such as Týr, Alestorm and Negură Bunget as well as festival appearances at Wacken Open Air, Paganfest extended shows (with Finntroll and Eluveitie), Metalfest Austria, and the Russian Oktobierfest (with Korpiklaani) amongst many others. During the past few years, SVARTSOT has experienced an increase in demand as a headliner both at home and abroad. The band has headlined a number of concerts in Denmark, Sweden, Germany and the UK, amongst other places.

Vallis Mortem er et moderne old school thrash metal band fra Horsens.
Ja, moderne og old school lyder måske lidt mærkeligt i samme sætning,  men med  en speciel blanding af musikere og en baggrund fra Black, Death, Thrash og mere moderne metal, har bandet skrevet numre uden grænser og love for hvad man må og ikke må.

Så med et motto i øvelokalet der lyder ”alt skal afprøves, inden det bliver kasseret”, har Vallis Mortem nu udgivet deres første album ” Last Sundown is Forever”, der er mixet & marstered i Dead Rat Studios af Jacob Bredahl (ex Hatesphere, The Kandidate).

Albummet blev udgivet på CD og diverse streaming-tjenester d. 16 maj 2014.

Bandet drager som så mange andre bands, musikalsk inspiration fra de for længst etablerede thrash-bands som Metallica, Megadeth og Slayer, men med deres eget tag på hvordan musikken skal skæres, blandt andet med en spansk lyrik på flere numre, da sangeren har rødder i Nicaragua.

Så med en del koncerter i blandt andet  Horsens, Herning, Kbh og Aarhus i bagagen og et album ude er Vallis Mortem mere end klar til at tage det næste skridt og blive et etableret navn på den danske og måske den internationale metal scene.
